MAIN ACTIVITIES:
The main activities of the information system architect consist of:
- Analyze the existing system (operating systems, hardware, software, networks);
- Build the IS cartography;
- Choose new technologies while respecting different constraints (cost, time and safety);
- Develop and manage a development or integration plan;
- Inform and advise management on the technological and organizational consequences of the new IS;
- Design and implement the application architecture of the information system;
- Carry out the application mapping of the information system;
- Study the solutions to be implemented;
- Intervene on consulting missions;
- Participate in the governance rules of the information system in relation to the methodologies that support them.
SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
The Information System Architect must be able to understand the environment and the activities of the company where he works. He must also:
- Have a systemic, technological and global vision of information systems;
- Possess a very high technical level (operating systems, database management systems, network equipment);
- Analyze the needs of different functions and data flows in the company and translate requests into solutions;
- Advise and assist management in their choice of technologies and providers;
- Provide IT solutions taking into account the existing and the professional environment of the company.
EDUCATION:
To become an Information System Architect, it is necessary to obtain a
minimum bac +3 diploma
(License, DUT, BTS) specialized in
IT, IT and communications architect, IS audit and design, networked IS, or better yet, a
bac +5 diploma

- Specialized Master 2
in IT and / or telecoms, IT systems and network security
- Engineering schools
